From March 31st to April 1st, 2017, I attended the “The Personal is Still Political: Challenging Marginalization Through Theory, Analysis & Praxis” conference organized by The Graduate Consortium in Women's Studies. The conference was held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, though the consortium draws students from many universities in the Boston-Cambridge area.

I traveled to London, UK, to conduct archival research for my PhD dissertation. The trip took 17 days from 12th to 28thFebruary, 2017. Last summer, I had traveled to Afghanistan for fieldwork. The archival work in London was as important for collecting data for my dissertation as the visit to Kabul.
My visit to the Whitworth Art Gallery’s archives at the University of Manchester has allowed me to examine pieces from Lynn Hershman’s Roberta Breitmore (1973-75) project.
