OURMedia / NUESTROS Medios 6th Conference (OM6) will be aimed at building strategies and collaborations among researchers, non-governmental organizations, practitioners, artists and advocates for the promotion of communication rights, effective access to ICT, community and citizen participation in the media and community engagements that foster social change and cultural revitalization.

The First World Congress on Communication for Development
Rome, Italy October 25-27, 2006
This 3-day Congress has brought together communication professionals engaged in development initiatives, policymakers, development practitioners, donor and civil society organization representatives, community representatives, and academics from around the world to share experiences and best practices in this growing field. Discussions and presentations have focused on what works, what doesn’t, and how Communication for Development contributes to better development effectiveness.
Congress participants have collectively built a series of key recommendations named "The Rome Consensus" on ways to incorporate communication into policy and development. These recommendations have been refined during the three days of the Congress and discussed in a forum with policymakers on the final day.
The World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) is holding its 9th World Conference and General Assembly. The conference will take place in Amman, Jordan between November 11th and 17th 2006.
