Christine Ross, James McGill Chair in Contemporary Art History and Director of Media@McGill, has been awarded the inaugural Artexte prize for research in contemporary art. Artexte, a pan-Canadian centre of contemporary art documentation, says, through the award, it wished to recognize Professor Ross's outstanding contribution to the study of visual art and media: "[her] long-standing commitment to excellence in research has greatly enhanced our understanding of today’s leading artistic practices and their bearing on contemporary society."
