After 12 years of dedication to scholarly research, student support and public outreach, Media@McGill will close its doors in April 2019. Throughout these exceptional years as an interdisciplinary hub, Media@McGill has had the privilege of collaborating with diverse scholars, public figures, journalists and artists in the critical inquiry of media, technology and culture. The Participatory Condition in the Digital Age (Darin Barney, Gabriella Coleman, Christine Ross, Jonathan Sterne, and Tamar Tembeck, Editors) will be available from University of Minnesota Press in November 2016.
The next edition of the World Forum of Free Media (WFFM) will take place in Montreal from August 7 to 14, 2016 within the framework of the World Social Forum (WSF). The first two days will be dedicated to the WFFM while the other activities will be included in the regular program of the WSF.
Media@McGill Director, Christine Ross, will be presented with the Prix Recherche, for her exceptional contributions to film studies.
L'Observatoire du cinéma au Québec will present this Prize to Professor Ross at a 5@7 on Thursday, May 12, at the Carrefour des arts et des sciences de l'Université de Montréal.
