The event takes place in the context of efforts to create a Cultural Diversity Coalition in Turkey, and reflects Media@McGill's interest in the globalization of media and communication policy issues. Participants will include Abdurrahman Çelik, General Director of Copyrights and Film of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism; Bülent Forta, board chairman of the Turkish Phonographic Industry Society; Tuğrul Paşaoğlu, member of the Digital Publishing Commission; Melek Ulagay, independent documentary film director and producer; and Hasan Saltık, who won the Dutch Royalty Award for his cultural music studies.
