Darin Barney, Canada Research Chair in Technology and Citizenship and a member of Media@McGill, will be presenting a talk entitled, "Attempting the Impossible: Politics, Engineering and the Conceit of Technology", at the 2012 Hixon-Riggs Forum.
The focus this year will be on the increasing influence of technocrats in public decision-making in three of the five rapidly developing countries known as the BRICS: India, China and Brazil. The forum will be taking place at Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California, from Friday, March 2 to Saturday, March 3, 2012, and is free and open to the public.
