Darin Barney on Communication Rights and “Unfinished Business”

Submitted by hive on

Media@McGill's Darin Barney was an advisor to the now defunct Law Commission of Canada, when it issued a call for research on Communication Rights and the Right to Communicate in 2005. At the June 2010 meetings of the Canadian Communication Association, Barney commented on the outcome of that research - one of the last projects sponsored by the Commission - now published as Media Divides, by Marc Raboy and Jeremy Shtern. "If the Commission had survived," he writes, "this work would have been the beginning of something, not the end." You can read his commentary below.
